As the chill of winter comes upon us, Apples should stay away from double breasted coats and tops-- they add volume, bulk, and width. Not what you want. Just go for one row of buttons (or a zipper) down the center. Opt for a basic color-- black, brown, maybe a dark green or a deep red. That way it works with more outfits and simply looks classy.
This is double breasted-- two columns of buttons. All white as a coat color is apprehensible-- one, no one can find you in the snow, two-- it gets dirty a lot faster, and three-- the old rule of "no white after labor day". Now I don't hold steadfastly to that maxim in all circumstances, but it is a good general guideline (white blouses aside)
Cute girl but she looks like a domino... See how all attention is drawn to the chest area and that it looks wider? That's what Apples want to avoid.
When you buy a jacket, coat, or blouse, make sure you can button it all the way. If you don't, you get the appearance that your clothing is too small/ that you're too big.
Remember: it doesn't matter the size on the tag, it's what makes you look good that makes you feel good.
